Integran has developed Nanovate™-NV (also known as Nanovate-NV), a low thermal expansion, very hard nanometal surface coating for
carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite tooling. The Nanovate™-NV coating adds durability and lifespan to tools, reducing replacement and repair costs.
| Nanovate™-NV Benefits: |
- High hardness resists scratching and manufacturing wear and tear
- Nanovate™-NV has 5x the hardness of Invar and overlaps with tool steel hardness
- High strength, high ductility material resists impact damage during manufacturing
- Fully dense material (no porosity) ensures vacuum integrity
- Lower thermal mass tool decreases cure cycle time
- Lighter weight tool increases tool mobility
- Compatible with machined or cast CFRP composites
- Compatible with epoxy or bismaleimide (BMI) resins
- Compatible with pre-preg or resin infused materials
